rating of songs in a playlist linked

I recently just dragged and dropped a playist onto my ipod touch 5th gen. On my Ipod i though i would do some organsizing of my rating of each song. When I connected the ipod back to the mac the info didnt crossover to the mac... How can i get my rating on ipod to show up on mac?
