Ios7 battery drain

I can get up to 5:30h of usage time and 12h stand by time on mine iPhone 5, but iPad 2 with iOS 7 is draining battery like crazy. 😟

Let your phone completely die out of battery where your phone powers off.

Then charge your phone fully without using it.

I finally figured out that the upgrade had turned off the auto lock feature on my iPad. When I closed the cover, the iPad wasn't going to sleep. Changing that setting helped (along with all the suggestions like turning off location services for certain apps, disabling background app uploading and Bluetooth--also turned on by the upgrade--etc.).

None of the 'tips' or 'tricks' work for me. Four clean installs later and either iOS7 somehow broke my battery, or the software is a battery hog. One or the other because my battery life is woeful and it's only going to get worse with charging my battery three times a day. How long will it last with that abuse??

Me too. I upgraded to iOS7 and my battery drains much quicker even after changing all the settings recommended by Apple to improve battery life.

Spread the word, more people need to tell Apple they are unhappy with iOS7 and hopefully Apple will either fix the problems or let us downgrade to iOS6.

There are some articles what to do in the settings to optimise the battery usage:

• Disable the parallax effect that gives the home screen that 3D look by going to Settings > General > Accessibility > Reduce Motion.
• Turn off the background app refresh for at least some of your apps by going to Settings > General > Background App Refresh.
• Turn off AirDrop by swiping up from the bottom of the screen and selecting the toggle in the Control Center.
• Go to Settings > Notification Center and toggle off any apps that you don’t want to include.

I did ALL the tricks and followed ALL the tips days ago. They only slightly helped. My phone has a massive problem on iOS7.

Seems to have crapped out my battery - not drainign quickly, but the battery meter was for crap. After upgrade to 7, it would show 100% battery all day, for about three or four days. Then woke up Tue or Wed and it showed 2% after being plugged in all night. Wouldn't go above 2% though the phone stayed on an worked fine all day long. Yesterday while traveling found an article / post from someone that 7.0.2 seemed to have corrected their battery problem. When I arrived home on my wf-fi network I started the update, and mid-update it just crapped out, as though because the battery meter marker is showing wrong it somehow doesn't want to complete the install, wants me to plug in if I unplug it, but never will re-start. Tried connecting to iTunes on my computer but because it won't shut one, iTunes won't recognize it. SOMETHING IS WRONG with the OS, some incompatibility with whatever hardward plugs into or recognizes battery levels, etc. The battery had decent life, and I carried a back-up for it. IT never ever just stopped charging.

You probably have the iPhone4 although you cry but give no details. If you tried "everything" then you did not read other posts here, I repeat what I have said there: during the beta testing of iOS/ there has been published on sevral mac sites, that the iPhone4 and 4s will be slowed down considerably, and that you better wait for several updates of iOS7 to upgrade.

And btw we are users here, not Apple. You can write a feedback to Apple, they will not answer but they will read all feedbacks.

I actually have a 3-month old iPhone 5 and yes, I have indeed tried everything. I am sick of being made out to be some kind of moron who can't adjust a few settings like others have done to 'cure' the problem. I have adjusted ALL the settings and what's more, I have done FOUR clean installs without using a backup. There is positively nothing else that I can try in order to stop my severe battery drain. Period.

The only thing anybody can see is how you behave here and wat you post here.

Your problem now: if the iPhone you have is 3 months old you have warranty, bring it back and have it replaced.

I am having the same problem with my iPhone5, just updated to iOS7, but I have been disappointed with the battery life with my iPhone since I got it, however I do use the crap out of it, on the upside it does charge fast.

I read an article suggesting setting the iPhone up as a new device and then restore form a back up. I have not tried this yet, but I am skeptical whether is will work or not, like you nothing I have tried improved battery life, but my felling about it, is why have all these features just to shut them off?

If you are close to an Apple Store the Genius Bar can run a battery test to see if you have a faulty battery.

Your description sounds like there is somethign wrong with your iPhone more than somethign with iOS in general. I suggest that you take your iPhone to an authorized Apple service center (preferably an Apple Store) and have them check it out. If you are still under warranty (or AppleCare+) it could get replaced for free, or at worst case an out of warranty repair fee (which is only about $49 for each of the first 2 with AppleCare+).
