parent filter only allows plain text Facebook w/o images

My son's laptop has Snow Leopard on it, and I'm trying to all him access to Facebook without allowing unlimited web access. I used terminal to get the host IP for Facebook and added it as an allowed site. Parental filter is now allowing access to the site, but Facebook will only load as plain text without images or graphics. My wife has a separate login user on the same laptop and Facebook works fine, so I know it's the parental control filter. Is there a workaround that anybody knows of?
