Quicktime 10.2 - quicktime 7

I have install quicktime 10.2 on my macbook pro 13 (late 2012) but suddenly quicktime 7 was downloaded to my mac, and I have two version of the same app, what's worst it's that quicktime 7 has turned the default player in my system, what can i do to remove quicktime 7 and keep my latest version

MacBook Pro with Retina display, OS X Mountain Lion (10.8.5)

The two versions are completely different and each has different features. Version 10.2 will "suggest" a download of version 7 when it comes across a file with an older codec it doesn't support.

Version 7 installs in the Utilities folder and you can delete it if you want. Most OS X users keep both versions.

You change the default "Open With" application from the Get Info window in the Finder. Control click on any icon and you'll see the option to open the Get Info window.
