Well, here is my opinion, after using logic , reasoning, and my experience .. ^ ^
With reference to the comment -> there are over 800 MILLION iOS devices out there. Sadly, this problem is not even a speck of dust on the radar screen as far as being a ' issue " <---
The use of my reason tells me more in my favor, If apple sells many devices , and approx 60000 (compared to the actual figure will be laughing ) , we should be taken care of ? , And even compensated ? ( Why not .. who can calculate the damage taken ) .
No particle so small we really are concerned, it really should not be a problem for the multinational ! Directly proportional incuetionablemente , the important thing here really for them is money that can be earned , and money can be saved ( although this should create my own excuses , law ..)
Apple evading responsibility and paying the penalties imposed on them for it, earn more! The same sample is not richest who has more money , but who needs the least , the position that should take , No more gaining more wins , but without losing too foul ! and giving face as responsible for this problem as many others, in the end, we ended up paying us, this is the bitter side of the Apple...Very ami despite all that and more, I was a big Phone apple

this error is associated with the modem. then the fact that he was not stitched . If I'm not mistaken, it can be solved csustom - modem firmware without increasing
Thank you Soooo much.....You are a GENIUS ...I managed to get rid of error 3 using u r freezer trick....I would like to share my story, hope it might help someone....
I faced this error 3 issue fisrt time some 4 months back while updating software in my ipad3,then i simply disconnected the firewall, disabled antivirus and downloaded new version of Itunes after deleting the existing itunes(deleted everything related to Apple and installed again). It worked.
Last week updated my ipad3 software again, followed the above process thrice but no luck.
Then realised its not going to work, somehow I strongly believed Kennethyoung's freezer trick and his theory about semiconductors and physics...
I made the below attemps:
1) Took Ipad and wrapped with towel and plastic cover to avoid moisture, kept it in freezer for 30 minutes
2) Took Ipad and wrapped with plastic cover only to avoid moisture, kept it in freezer for 45 minutes
3) Took Ipad and wrappped with plastic cover to avoid moisture, kept it in freezer for 90 minutes
4) Took Ipad and wrapped with plastic cover to avoid moisture, kept it in freezer for 150 minutes
5) Took Ipad and wrapped with plastic cover to avoid moisture, kept it in freezer for 180 minutes
6) Took Ipad and wrapped with plastic cover to avoid moisture, kept it in freezer for 240 minutes.
Ipad is covered with complete Ice,still I connected my Ipad immediately after taking out of freezer and restored
Lesson Learnt: Will never ever update IOS software again on my Ipad3.
Once again Thank you so much Kennethyoung.....Your freezer technique is Simply Awesome

I only wish we had enough clout to get Tim Cook to read your story. I am confident Tim doesn't want Apple Customers having to use their freezers to un-brick their $600 -$1000 iDevices rather than a firmware fix the excellent Apple engineering team has already figured our how to implement but has not decided to roll out.
If you have set your freezer to as cold as it will go and left your phone inside for 39 minutes and you still get error (3), then I'm sorry but you fall into the group that this method will not help. Your only other recourse is to continue to pester an Apple Store Genius and hope you find one that will offer you a refurb unit. Sorry this technique was unable to help you.
It's frustrating but I still have a small hope that Apple will integrate a error (3) fix into a future update, but given the necessity most of us have to use our devices, any such fix may not be until iOS 8, which is so far out as to be almost useless to most bricked devices those of is have now. The problem still appears to be on such a small percentage of devices that there could be a valid concern that any error (3) fix could create another unanticipated failure mode that could generate more device failures than currently being created by error (3). I don't know that this is the case in this specific circumstance, but having developed early Flash technology, there is no simple 100% foolproof mathematical algorithm for successfully erasing flash chips. It's a statistics game and the devices getting error (3) are, sadly, statistical edge cases.
