Sep 26, 2013 8:49 AM in response to elegosby Templeton Peck,These are user to user forums. You are not addressing Apple by posting here.
Have you checked your startup items folder. What about MSCONFIG?

Sep 26, 2013 9:19 AM in response to Templeton Peckby elegos,I don't want to stop the updater to check for updates, I want to stop it from searching updates of software I haven't installed.
As you can see (here: http://pbrd.co/1bICIGt ) the software updater is addressing me to an upgrade of iTunes (11.1.0), but I don't have iTunes installed. This forces the program popup at each system start.

Sep 29, 2013 7:38 AM in response to elegosby robert4949,I have the same exact issue. I only have quicktime installed and Apple Software Update keeps asking me to install iTunes which it has listed under the updates section instead of the new software section.
