Dear Apple,
Apple Software Update is keeping asking me by a while about upgrading iTunes at every Windows startup. The problem is that I have never installed iTunes and I don't want to.
Is there a solution to the problem but uninstalling the updater? I need it for QuickTime.

These are user to user forums. You are not addressing Apple by posting here.
Have you checked your startup items folder. What about MSCONFIG?
I don't want to stop the updater to check for updates, I want to stop it from searching updates of software I haven't installed.
As you can see (here: http://pbrd.co/1bICIGt ) the software updater is addressing me to an upgrade of iTunes (11.1.0), but I don't have iTunes installed. This forces the program popup at each system start.
I have the same exact issue. I only have quicktime installed and Apple Software Update keeps asking me to install iTunes which it has listed under the updates section instead of the new software section.
