will i loose my photos if i reinstall aperture 3

I clicked on a trial version library of Aperture and have lost my license. I'm ready to reinstall from the app store but will i loose my photos if i reinstall aperture 3 after moving the current installation to the trash (or uninstalling it).

What exactly happened? Clicking on any Aperture library will not prompt a request for a licence key.

Do you have two different Aperture versions installed? One newer Aperture from the App Store and an older Trial version? And by default the Trial version launched, when you tried to open the older library? Then it should suffice to uninstall the older Aperture Trial vesion and to double click your current library to launch the correct Aperture version.

Or is your current Aperture version a Trial version that you unlocked by buying a licence key? If you purchased a licence key, and don't have it any longer, you could contact Apple for a replacement serial number, see this page: Pro Application Replacement Serial Numbers

Reinstalling Aperture from the App Store should not endanger your images in the Aperture library. It will only replace the application, not your Aperture library. But before running the new version, take the usual precautions and make a backup of the Aperture library. By default your Aperture library will be located in the "Pictures" folder.
