I have Mail version 5.6 at my Macbook and version 6.5 at my Macbook Pro. Why? Autom. Update says that the software of the Macbook is up to date.....

Is it advisable to upgrade Mail in my Macbook?

How can I force this inspite of what Autom. Update says?

It depends on the OS. If your Macbook is running Mac OS 10.7 the Mail version is 5.

If your Macbook Pro is running Mac OS 10.8 the Mail version is 6.

In this forum, Mac OS 10.6 our Mail is 4
