why cant I sign on no password prompt?
if they are not using password authentication then the prompt for a password won't appear. Just tap on the name of the network to connect
You might also try opening Safari and see if a password prompt shows up there.

why cant I get on line in some one elses house? they have the internet but the password prompt does not come up?
