imovie problem

Just bought a new video camera and thought my issues were over . Its a canon hfr400 . I have imovie08 on my imac

I did a test video and connected the camera . I had no problems . It transfered over to my mac no problem . I was able to edit it and view

that was sept 17th

Over the last couple of days we took more video . Today i wanted to transfer to imovie . i connected the camera and immediately imovie shut down and i am getting the error screen that my imac was sending info to apple

I do not know what could have changed since sept 17th that would give me this grief . I know nothing about programming so i do not even know where to start
