Q: My systems preferences say I have upgraded storage in iCloud, yet I keep receiving emails that imply that I have not. What gives?

It is both confusing and annoying...  Maureen McClure

Did you purchase additional storage at iCloud?

If you purchased the additional storage it over-rode and cancelled the free storage you got as a result of having been a MobileMe subscriber. You are getting these automated emails because 'the right hand knoweth not what the left hand doeth' (Ecclesiastes 11:1) - just ignore them. They will stop in another week.

Thanks! My credit card was never charged. Will that kick in too at the end of the month?

Thanks.  Yes. I certainly went through the motions to upgrade to 40G but my credit card wasn't charged.

OK, you need to check what the situation is if you weren't charged.

    1. Choose Apple () menu > System Preferences, then click the iCloud icon.
    2. Click the Manage button.
    3. Click Change Storage Plan.
    4. Click Downgrade Options.

If you have actually purchased an upgrade, that will have cancelled the free storage from the time you made the purchase, and it will expire a year later.

If you did not purchase an upgrade, then your free extra storage will show as if you had purchased it, and will expire on Sept 30th.

What date does it give here? -

If it says 30 September 2013 you need to pay to retain the storage: click the Current Plan and the 'Done'.
