I installed an HP 6600. Wouldn't list the printer during install so I had to do it manually. I can print however the scanner is not recognized. Need help.

System Preferences - Print & Fax - highlight the printer in the box on the left and right click it, next choose Reset Printing System.
Nothing. When I click the HP Scan icon in my dock it the scan utility comes up. However no scanner listed and it can find one when select browse.
