Airplay not working on ios7 and latest apple TV update

I had the same problem with a client this morning. Looking like a fool, because I promised she could AirPlay through our programming of a remote we installed into her home theater.

I kept saying Wait for it to pop up next to the volume icon....

Same problem here. Airplay icon missing from Ipad Mini after iOS7 update. Rebooted the router, Apple TV, and iPad...still no luck. Very frustrating!!

Same story here, I updated everything and now I have no airplay button!! I really need a solution to this! please!

Had the same problem and just figured it out. Put your finger on the black border at the bottom of the screen and dragon up onto the screen. A bunch of info pops up, including the airplay icon. Hope this helps!

Same problem here, Iphone 4S and Ipad 2, no airplay button! I contacted the Apple support, but the problem has not solved... I think it's a big bug on IOS7 and AirPlay...I purchased a Apple TV, and now it's impossible to use with Iphone and Ipad...Please Apple solve this problem quickly!

Same here, we have tried absolutely every combination possible with resetting / restarting. Before the update the AppleTV was somewhat unstable holding the connection but after the update the only way we can use the AppleTV is with an ethernet connection. Hope Apple fixes the problem soon!!

He is correct. If you open the Control Center you will see the airplay option and can make changes there. Not as simple as having the icon in the app, but it definitely does work.

I upgraded my iPad mini to ios7.0.2 and upgraded to latest Apple TV update. Reboots router, 3rd gen. Apple TV and iPad. No airplay icon in apps or control center.

What's frustrating is that I see a lot of people reporting his issue in forums and I have yet to hear apple acknowledging it.

I'm having some troubles with airplay on my 3rd gen apple ATV6.0 and IPhone 5 on IOS7.0.2.

All devices connected through AirPort Extreme 802.11AC 7.7.1

Bulk of the problems come from the ATV connected wirelessly

Where the wired one has less errors, but is more often in use.

Some of the errors I've had

Content "fails to load"

"Apple TV is not connected to network"

Videos loading for 1-2minutes before first playback, with multiple pauses.

And maybe other issues too. But those are most recent.

I can't say exactly when it started happening, but for sure in the last 2-3 weeks.

(Kinda since IOS7 and ATV6?) mayybeee?

After several hours to back up and restore my ipad 3 the airplay is working. It may have been there all the time. The first Apple rep tried to help thinking it was bluetooth connection. I did everything she told me to to including starting the ipad as a new ipad. Second rep tried going thru some of the same things. Then when I insisted that my Bose was an airplay...not bluetooth he told me to swipe up to get the command center and there it was. They moved the airplay to the command center instead of the upper left hand corner of the screen where it appeared in ios6.

I still don't have airplay on my iphone 4s but the leaving that alone until I check my husbands phone that has not been upgraded to ios7.

I give Apple Support and A for effort but a C for knowing the new platform.

The answer for most was posted 9/30 by kerk johnson. Amazing how some folks just post without reading anything.

The problem isn't your phone. Reboot your wireless router and the airplay icon will appear within a few minutes. This assumes of course you are in range of wireless and Apple TV or other device. I had the same problem and the icon appeared after rebooting router.
