I had a ding appear in the lower left quarter of my screen about two weeks ago. Since then, the crack lines have been growing with what looks like ink scribbles. Sometimes the lines/ink change slightly, especially if I reboot. Is this a cracked screen or could it be a virus?

    Welcome to Apple Discussions!

    Unlikely to be a virus.

If you are able to pass a window under it and doesn't change with the surroundings, it is independent of the graphics redraw routines. Sometimes a fishy thing can happen withe power inverter board, or the cables going to the display that could cause this to happen. It is after all an active matrix display. I'd backup your data, and send it to a service center. If it is out of warranty, http://www.dttservice.com/ and http://www.powerbookresq.com/ are recommended. Also if it is obvious you dropped your computer, I'd recommend taking it to them.
