Ejecting the SIM has nothing to do with resetting the password.

If the passcode has been forgotten, connect the device to a computer running iTunes and restore it.

Take a thin pin or needle, with tweezers bend the tip at a length of less than 1mm into a small hook. Insert this small hook about 1 mm into the SIM Tray hole, pull it back slightly so it catches and just simply pull the SIM Tray out. As Diesel explained regarding the passcode Restore with iTunes.

Open iTunes on computer, connect iPhone to computer with USB Cable, hold both home and power buttons for about 20 seconds until iTunes recognizes iPhone in Recovery Mode, click Restore button of iTunes.
