I have lost my iphone 5. Important question , help!

If you log into iCloud, go into Find My Phone and specify your phone as lost, I believe it will show up on Find My Phone. If it doesn't show up right away it may be off. There'a an option to get informed when the phone is turned on and getr its bearings.

If it's lost and the battery is dead it probably won't show up on the map. You'll have to hope someone finds it and charges it. Was it protected with a passcode?

I just checked, in Find My Phone click on My Devices and select your phone, select Notify me when found and click on Lost mode and enter a number where you can be reached.
