keyboard works on other computers, and a PC keyboard works on imac. but the mac keyboard will not work. How do I get the imac and mac keyboard to love each other again. Im sure this is note worthy, but this happen on a reset for an app that i installed for the air deplay from "Avatron"

Odd thing. I plugged my Mac keyboard into my macbook pro for a few seconds it didn't work then it popped on. So I plugged it back in to iMac and it works just fine. now I'm wondering what the world happen. It was like the macbook gave it something. Lol.
Wow, I have the exact same problem. The keyboard stops working, then if I plug it into my old iBook, type a few things, then plug it back into the new iMac, it works. Crazy. Any luck fixing it? For me the problem comes back every once in a while.
Hi looks like i'm struck by the same problem here. (second time actually) Last time I had another Mac computer near me, but this time I haven't. So I don't have a solution.
It is kind of preposterous that an issue like this kan even exist... Could we hope on an official fix for this problem?
I have the same issue. New late 2013 iMac with mavericks and occasionally the keyboard stops working. Unplug it and plug in again and it works fine.
So is this hardware (USB) or software issue.

Brand new, late 2013 model iMac, 27" [3.5 GHz Intel Core i7, NVIDIA GeForce GTX 780M 4096 MB, OS X 10.9.1 (13B42) ].
Wired USB Apple extended keyboard just stops working at random intervals and I have to unplug and plug it back to keep going. Very frustrating. Hoping there's a firmware fix or software update, depending on what's causing it.
I've already had the logic board replaced on this one. First one had weird, red video artifacts appear after a couple weeks out of the box. Thankfully now I only have this weird keyboard lockup every few days.
The problem can be solved by simply using a usb extension cable (bundled with the keyboard)
