My iphone 5 blacked out: screen doesn't show anything, siri is the only thing works, pressing the silver lock screen button does nothing, and I can't turn off the phone..

My iphone 5 blacked out:

battery is full,

screen doesn't show anything,

siri is the only thing works,

pressing the silver lock screen button does nothing,

and I can't turn off the phone..

Before this happened, I was just opening a wikipedia webpage, then the screen froze in a white background before the website opens up, so I pressed the lock-screen silver button and then it just blacked out. Now I can't use my phone.. I tried connect my phone to my laptop and restore my phone but it won't work until the Find my iphone is turned off, but I can't do that since I can't read anything from the screen..

Is there anything I can do myself to make it work? or should i take it to an apple store?

omg thank you soooo muchhhh!!!! you saved me a trip to the store, I was not in the mood to deal with this non sense lol. But, do you know why this might of happened. i was watching some youtube vids and my screen glitched then i clicked the power button and it just blacked out from there, really weird. but anyways if you don't know, thanks for your advice. Now im happy 🙂

It just happens sometimes - it is basically a computer, which boils down to millions of little off and on switches which tell the machine what to do. One little off goes on, or vice versa, and it comes to a dead standstill. Like any computer, it occasionally may need to be rebooted, so that is all you just did. If it only happens occasionally, then it is nothing to worry about....

Short of going to iCloud.com, and under Find My iPhone erasing your device, there is not much more you can do. It would be a good idea to get that button fixed as it is central to so many things.

If you do what? What situation are you in? If you are talking about the reset, then normally, it does no more than a reboot of a computer would do. But you should always have a current backup in case things go awry.

i have the same problem but my lock button is broken. 😠 you wont like me when i am angry. someone help! so i dont get angry. i have absolutely no idea what to do.

You need to get the button fixed. There is not much you can do in regards to reset, recovery, or restore without it.....
