Q: I can't transfer my info from my old Macbook (Year 2006) to my new MacBook Pro. The Fire Wire Cable changed !

If you have a brand new machine, it will have a Thunderbolt port and you will need an adapter Thunderbolt > Firewire (or a cable) if your old Mac supports it:

Non-retina models  show FW800 on the store page - so a suitable Firewire 400-800 cable should do for those. Quite expensive from Apple, but perhaps €5 or less if you shop around.

Didn't realize they still had FW ports - thought everything changed to Thunderbolt......

All you need, if you've the non-Retina model, is a FireWire 400 to FireWire 800 cable -> such as this one from Amazon.

I know that there's a UK Amazon - can you order from there? Or is there a French Amazon as well?
