How do I enable Java? it is already installed and enabled in preferences and it continues to say it isn't detected?

MacBook Pro, OS X Mountain Lion (10.8.5), I am trying to print coupons

If you are trying to use it in Safari, Safari/Preferences/Security. If not Safari, what are you trying to do?

Java is allowed and enabled in security, but when I go to print it says java not detected. Is Java not compatable? version 7
