After updating to ios 7 automatic downloads not working. It is enabled in settings but new content purchased in iTunes store on MacBook or iMac not automatically downloading onto iPhone. Any idea why? I have checked and "Automatic Downloads" is turned on in Settings > iTunes & App Store...

Yeah, from what I've been reading and seeing in various locations - this is not actually working yet as it should.
Mine works fine. Every day it seems to be updating apps normally.
I don't think anyone should expect their app to be updated the exact instant an update is available. That would crush the servers.
This is the only thing I've experienced as 'not working' as it seems it should. I have no battery issues, or iMessage issues, etc. but my badge app icon can show updates for hours and they never download with Updates turned on and use cellular data on...even when I get to a wi-fi connection, they still do not update.
I've read through several other forums and various tech websites discussing the same thing.
the issue is not with apps, it is with Music purchases. I actually do not have this feature turned on for Apps.
I'm seeing the same thing. Automatic downloads for music isn't working. iPhone 5 iOS 7.0.2

Looked all over the web and it seems nobody is talking about it so far.
When I download music on iPhone, it doesn`t automatically download on iPad. Instead I see a message "Download error. Tap to retry" on iTunes app.
Have you figured out something to solve it?
I am still having the issue. When I download music on my MacBook it does not automatically download onto my iPhone. I have to go do it manually, the song I recently downloaded on my MacBook will show up on the iPhone but not in the playlist, just under artist or song name. Then I have to press the little cloud with arrow icon a few times to get it to download into the iPhone. This is a big step backwards from iOS 6. Hopefully it is corrected in an update soon.
I had the same problem with no automatic downloads of purchased Apps ...PLUS... I still recieved message "to use push notifications connect to itunes"
I found solution worked for me:
1- go to "Icloud keychain". (Under settings----> Icloud). go there and ENABLE it. It will ask for passcode and so on. so once enabled
2- restart your phone (normal power off)
3- reactivate imessage and facetime. (need a few minutes to reactivate)
4- ALL WORKING ;-)
