Feb 4, 2014 3:55 PM in response to chronicon helveticumby tomsruk,I'm with you on the feedback - let's get everyone helping with a new round of submissions. I'm so gutted to even be considering a move away from Apple.
The only thing I would disagree with is the line "We pay your salaries." I work in an environment where I deal with customers regulary - and there is no faster turn off to compasion than that line.

Feb 4, 2014 4:15 PM in response to chronicon helveticumby babsonnexus,Hello gang,
I've spoken with my wallet and moved myself on to a WP8. For those worrying, I was able to replace 90% of the apps I deal with and found other ways for everything else. Although the transition was awkward at first, I played with my iPhone today and realized how easily my mind has shifted after just a couple of weeks. I'll be wiping that phone and sending it back to recycling later this week. Good luck to whoever buys it!
Whatever decision you make and whatever ecosystem you decide you want to be in, just remember that your wallet is going to speak loudest. As such, it might even be beneficial to reach out to Apple competitors and let them know about the issue. If Apple is not up to acknowledging that this is a major flaw, their competitors would be more than happy to point that out for them.
I've also unsubcribed to this thread, so this is my goodbye! Sorry Apple, I was prepared to stay but you really shoved me out the door.

Feb 4, 2014 4:17 PM in response to sjmawerby ERSinclair,At this point, is be happier with a simple "Save" button on each screen that ensured when I came back to that app I would not have lost data.
This problem makes my old IBM PC running DOS 4 and it's built in task switcher seem pretty high tech.

Feb 4, 2014 6:02 PM in response to tri71by ERSinclair,The funny thing is, I was thinking it might be a Samsung something, a Blackberry something. Some sort of Android something. But Windows never crossed my mind. Have the MS devices actually gotten to the point of competing in the real market? I'm not a big smart phone fanatic. I was big on the business use of my Blackberry and figured all these other things were just hyped up MP3 players. It was peer pressure that got me to switch to Apple when my company started converting to Apple and canceled my service.
A year ago, a bunch of kids from Microsoft were having a txt challenge at a car show. They weren't expecting an old fart with a blackberry to out txt them so bad. It was fun. Real keyboards rule.

Feb 4, 2014 8:59 PM in response to chronicon helveticumby DebinLee,Helveticum, I am not sure if I've fixed it completely but after a week's testing the bug seems gone. Maybe I will test more than two weeks before I draw that conclusion. Here is what exactly what I did: a week ago I read the thread and someone (sorry, forgot the name) said 7.1beta 4 fixed the bug. So I was trying to test that. Not knowing that I should have needed a developer account, I got a warning on hello screen and could not continue. Now my device became totally useless with only a hello screen. Then I turned to DFU restore. FYI, I didn't reset or clear any setting or data. Also, I didn't set it as my new device.
iPhone 5 running 7.0.4

Feb 4, 2014 9:56 PM in response to DebinLeeby Miellino,After DFU what have you done exactly?
1. Restored firmware 7.04
2. Restore your iCloud backup? So you didn't lost nothing?

Feb 5, 2014 2:59 AM in response to chronicon helveticumby herkdriver,Some have suggested complaining with our wallets. My company, an airline, will be following many others by providing iPads to their crews. They are being certified for use in the cockpit for a wide range of uses. The most important, in my opinion, is to replace the paper charts for departures, enroute, arrivals, etc. I'm personally using my own iPad for all the things my company envisions. I wonder if this was known at corporate or FAA levels, would the iPad still be certified for use? That's literally thousands of iPads. Sadly, Android is not supported by the publisher of the charts, so it would be back to paper.

Feb 5, 2014 3:07 AM in response to herkdriverby chronicon helveticum,Herkdriver, this sounds like an excellent opportunity to send an email to the company's IT department outlining your concerns and experiences. An airline dropping the iPad would make tech headlines.

Feb 5, 2014 10:52 AM in response to chronicon helveticumby Vicky Bilaniuk,I have this problem, too, and it's extremely annoying. However, I've only noticed it in the following apps:
Twitter (most severe)
Facebook
Settings app
Dropbox app
Google plus app
Most if not all games I have
Have not AT ALL noticed it in:
Gmail app
Mail app
Chrome
Note Taker HD (best productivity app for iOS ever. EVER.)
SMS on phone
I may have noticed it in some other apps but can't be sure. I want to say I've seen it in Evernote but can't be sure.
The interesting thing about Note Taker HD is you can tell it's reloading as it takes a bit of time and displays a message but it goes right back to wherever it was, without fail. I feel like I didn't pay enough money for that app.

Feb 5, 2014 6:54 PM in response to sjmawerby bj.frompc,Safari is the #1 problem for me here. When I'm entering information in forms and go to mail to retrieve something, I return to Safari and all the information that I've entered disappears, the entire page refreshes. Now it appears like I'm wasting my time even posting on this thread if apple isn't even listening. It's happened ever since I've upgraded to IOS 7 and it's anoying! There's got to be a fix because I NEVER had this happen in IOS 6. Where can I post feedback directly to apple! What finally got me to research the issue is that my wife had the same issue tonight with her brand new 5S.

Feb 5, 2014 7:06 PM in response to bj.frompcby dfeivelson,I totally agree that losing text entered in forms in Safari is the biggest and most unproductive problem with this bug... just like yesterday when I was typing a post for this forum I received a call in the middle of doing so and when I came back the page reloaded and everything was gone.
To know that the problem exists even on the 5S solidifies my decision to definitely not upgrade from my iPhone 4S until the slouches at Apple fix this.
