Feb 23, 2014 4:46 AM in response to sjmawerby asiliram,Just joining the discussion with my ipad 2... only to report that I have had the same issue since io 7 first came out... Recent update did not change anything. It is REALLY annoying... for me it even gets to the point were a lot of apps crashes to load... only way for me to get out of that is to reboot the ipad.. then it has enough memory to load app... but still rfreshes when switching between apps.
I especially *love* how it gives me a freezed image of where I last left off in the app I just switched to, for about 3-4 second and then refresh app back to orignal start screen. Like reading a magazine... I see the last page I was on... but then reloads back in to library view for that magazine and I have to find the correct issue and page myself. ***?!For me it also happens when I go from sleep ipad, punch in code and same thing. PRetty much with ALL app. Amazone Kindle is the only exception I have notieced. Well... that is, it does a refresh.. but kindle makes sure to remember where you left off anyway so gets you right back where you were.
Also whilst playing a game... it might start crashing.. and looking at crash reports.. .always Low memory!.
Apple!!! Seriously... I have gone from loving it to hating the product!

Feb 23, 2014 6:27 AM in response to asiliramby dfeivelson,And to add insult to injury the screen shot of the apps running in the background are not even always where I last left it on my iPhone 4S (they are a shot of how I last last left it or something to that effect).
Here we are in 2014 and car stereo manufacturers are still not making new units with lightning connections. A lot of manufacturers are saying to **** with Apple and their greedy BS proprietary nonsense.
I will be keeping my iPhone 4S until it dies... who knows maybe I'll find another one on eBay with iOS 6 still on it.
Look at the recent reviews for the lightning-to-USB cable on the Apple Store website... almost every single review is one star.
I would almost go as far as to say that Apple programmed this bug purposefully to only happen on older devices so we would blindly upgrade to their latest.
I would actually love to upgrade to the iPhone 5S but I have so many **** accessories with the 30 pin connector it would make my life a living ****; two car stereos that play iPhone video via 30 pin connection (video will not work with an iPhone 5 or 5S even with the 30 pin-to-lightning adapter), Lowrance SonicHub (dock for my phone in my bass boat that lets me select/play music through my fishfinder/GPS, iFusion Office/Desk Phone Dock, Bose Sounddock Portable.

Feb 24, 2014 12:00 AM in response to sjmawerby chronicon helveticum,Can it really be that the last posts by rick7, Laust and myself have been deleted by a moderator?
Rick7, you must have received an email notification of my latest (admittedly critical) post. How do feel like commenting on it and including the text verbatim as an experiment?
If Apple are deleting dissenting posts it's a pretty poor show.

Feb 24, 2014 12:21 AM in response to chronicon helveticumby EndOfInfinity,Yes helveticum, your last post has been deleted.
There are other (not so critical) posts wich "disappeared" too.
What a shame, Apple...

Feb 24, 2014 1:17 AM in response to EndOfInfinityby paulfromstone,I've had my posts deleted where I've described my experience of 7.1 beta versions. The reason given is that it contained information about beta software, with a link to the support communities terms of use, which doesn't appear to mention anything of the sort.
I suppose it goes with Apple's secrecy about everything. It's a bit different experience to what I'm used to though - Microsoft's Connect - where everyone's issues are publicly available, including feedback from Microsoft developers.

Feb 24, 2014 1:27 AM in response to chronicon helveticumby Laust Nielsen,Yes, my post and the responses to that post has been deleted.
Apple has sent me an email and after looking at the guidelines I can see that yes, I violated the Apple Developer Forums Usage Guidelines, and no, it was not because it was critical (it was not).
I hope to see a solution to this problem and I am sure Apple do as well.

Feb 24, 2014 1:48 AM in response to Laust Nielsenby chronicon helveticum,I have received no email or explanation from Apple as to why my own post was deleted.

Feb 24, 2014 5:54 AM in response to chronicon helveticumby rick7,Yes, I see that my post was deleted. I'm not even sure what I said that violated any guideline. I've received no email from Apple about it.

Feb 24, 2014 6:03 AM in response to rick7by EndOfInfinity,Because it was a reply to a deleted Post from Laust.
This is really ridiculous. There is absolutely NO help from Apple - but they have the time to delete perhaps helpful posts!

Feb 24, 2014 6:44 AM in response to EndOfInfinityby herkdriver,Well, at least it means someone at Apple is fully aware of our problem, however low on the food chain they might be!

Feb 24, 2014 8:22 AM in response to sjmawerby tomsruk,May I be so bold as to quote helveticum here. An eloquently written and important addition to this discussion.
Follows quote:
My feeling is that Apple can try to pass the buck as much as they like, but either (a) iOS 7 is fundamentally flawed, (b) iOS 7 is too difficult to work with for app developers or (c) Apple is incapable of verifying third-party app compliance. Either way this is Apple's fault and responsibility and has resulted in a system that is virtually unusable for many and has severely and irrevocably damaged their reputation for delivering quality systems.
I have been in software development all my working life and cannot imagine any of the companies I have worked for allowing such sub-standard software out of the door. The SSL vulnerability that has just been patched in 7.0.6 exposes grossly poor programming practices (a duplicate goto statement) that suggests poor testing procedures at the very least.
It is surely such poor testing that has led to the appalling state of iOS 7. It baffles me that a company such as Apple could allow such flawed software out of the door and I can only imagine that unrealistic deadlines, competitor pressures and over-ambitious feature sets have led us to this flaky, bug-ridden mess. (I do not subscribe to the conspiracy theory that iOS 7’s 'bugs' are designed to increase page counts and data usage.)
Apple kit was always expensive but it was always stylish, achingly beautifully designed and ... just worked. I unhesitatingly recommended them to colleagues and friends. I do this no more and see Apple products as no more reliable as any of the other moderately decent packages out there. What use is a solid block of aluminium with gorilla glass and a sapphire lens, beautiful though it might be, without equally rugged and robust software?
I honestly believe 2013 will have marked the start of Apple's inexorable fall from grace and it is just a matter of time before another company rises to take its place as the king of style and quality. What a shame, what a pity, what a disgrace.

Because when you signed up as a developer, you understand that beta software is Apple Confidential Information and cannot be discussed in open forums. That's what developer.apple.com forums are for.

Feb 24, 2014 9:46 AM in response to tomsrukby ERSinclair,Just for the record, I didn't invent the conspiracy theory. I actually read that somewhere, that the phone service providers were paying something like the equivalent of “royalties” to Apple based on usage. I have subsequently been unable to find the source of that comment so that I could quote it, but I didn't just come up with that on my own.

Feb 24, 2014 9:48 AM in response to sjmawerby ERSinclair,So is it a consensus that the patch 7.0.6 is safe?
