Mar 6, 2014 5:09 AM in response to EndOfInfinityby DebinLee,Hi EndOfInfinity,
I've tested it on my girlfriend's iPad 2. Yeah, it doesn't work.
Does any device with 512MB RAM work?

Mar 6, 2014 5:45 AM in response to DebinLeeby EndOfInfinity,But forced mode for specific apps works really great.
So there is a solution for all of you: Help yourself!
(I'm sorry, but i can't tell you more to avoid yet another deletion of my post. Google is your friend!)

Mar 8, 2014 8:07 PM in response to sjmawerby AceNeerav,Not only do my safari tabs reload when i return to safari, now i get another weird behaviour. Background safari tabs reload when returning to them from another tab while staying in safari. This is causing me too much cellular data.

It's very annoying!!!! I tried fill form on the site ( I switch between tabs for "copypaste") and am failing.

Mar 9, 2014 10:00 AM in response to AceNeeravby lforbes,I am going to start using Chrome from the App Store to see if it does it a lot. I did report it to them so maybe they will actually update their app.

Mar 10, 2014 1:15 PM in response to sjmawerby tomsruk,I think we're focused on the app refresh problem here.
I have, albeit redundantly, installed 7.1. I'm hesitant to say that I have seen some improvement.
Will continue to test and report back.
Where is everyone else at??

Mar 10, 2014 2:13 PM in response to tomsrukby chronicon helveticum,There does appear to be an improvement but we have all been here before. The update required a reset so we would expect a temporary improvement anyway due to the memory being cleared. Let's see after 12 hours or so.

Mar 10, 2014 4:21 PM in response to chronicon helveticumby chronicon helveticum,After playing around with 7.1 for a while, I do not believe the app refresh problem has been addressed. Readers of my posts may recall that my personal gripe was when swapping between Editorial and iBooks for consulting a reference manual. Swapping to iBooks results in the book closing, a pause, then a reopen. Far from slick and far from practical.
This is really disappointing but it will be interesting to hear whether others' pet peeves have been sorted by this update. I have my doubts.
This is depressing. Apple, less than a year ago I was an evangelist for your products. How did you go so badly wrong?

Mar 10, 2014 4:38 PM in response to chronicon helveticumby rick7,Ouch. I almost don't want to install 7.1. I'm not sure I can stand the disappointment.

Mar 10, 2014 4:41 PM in response to chronicon helveticumby asiliram,I could not agree more!
I have noticed the keyboard font is now bold and not so sleek anymore. A bit more pixelated. On the positive side my ipad 2 seems faster to load apps than before and generally a bit faster overall.
But refresh problem is Still there. For me it is always there... Even after reboot. Not noticed out of memory issue yet... But too early to tell.
Dissapointed... And not buying another apple product until this is fixed... Maybe not even then. Because i am THAT disapointed in Apple.

Mar 10, 2014 6:06 PM in response to asiliramby LenxBob,My iPad 2 32GB is much improved on 7.1 - albeit, I've only been using it about an hour or so.
I no longer get Safari TAB refreshes when reducing the app or when switching back and forth between other apps. The only time I get it is if I actually CLOSE it and then reopen it - which is normal.
Pages and Notes are better, but still show a brief lag when I first open them or app switch back and forth.
At this point, 7.1 seems to have brought my old iPad back from the near-dead.
