I figured it out all you have to do to delete the songs that you don't want and came back ever since ios 7 is to turn on show all music. Then you download all the songs you want to delete by clicking the cloud button right next to the song and letting it finish download. Once you download all the songs you wanted to delete by doing the previous step turn off show all music. Then you go back to your itunes library and slide to the left the songs you want to delete.

ALRIGHT LADIES AND GENTS. EASY WAY TO FIX YOUR PROBLEM.

I have an Iphone 5 with the latest IOS

Step 1:  go to Settings//General//usage//Music//Edit//Delete Music

(this will delete the music of your Iphone, however all you music will still come up when you go into your music player but there will be a little cloud next to it. if you play music with the cloud next to it, it will use your internet data so be careful

Step 2: go to settings//Music and Turn off the "Show All Music" button. this hides all the music available on your Icloud. its still available if you decide you want a song back, all you need to do it turn the button back on, download all the songs you want.

Its a really good idea, every time you put music on your iphone, it also saves it to your icloud for example:

you are at the shops, and you are cranking some fat beats. but you really want to listen to a song you deleted. turn on the show all music, download it from the icloud, and then turn off the show all music option and PRESTO! you have your favourite song on your phone and you dont have to go home and plug your phone in and get it off your computer..

    hope this helped. <3

    I solved it!

to remove songs from your iPhone, go to settings>music>show all music

open your music app. Find the song you want to delete. If it has a cloud icon, tap the cloud to download song. Once that is complete the cloud will disappear. You can now hold your finger on the song and drag to the left to get the delete button. DELETE the annoying song.

now go back to settings and turn off show all music.

return to your music app. Now the offensive song should be gone. However check your whole library. First time I did this three more unwanted songs appeared. Continue the process til all unwanted songs are off the phone. Whew

After going to settings and shutting off *show all music, you might see some songs on your phone that are from the iCloud. To get rid of these songs just turn *show all music back on then download the iCloud songs onto your iPhone then delete right after by swiping left on the song. It is a pain the a** but it gets the job done.

After unchecking "Show All Music" most of the songs were gone, but two that I had clicked on by accident were still there and I could not swipe to delete.  I tried Settings --> General --> Usage --> Click on Music and then swipe right to left to bring up the delete option and it worked!!! Thank you!!!

mterranella - I was about ready to take a hammer to my iphone! IOS 7 on the iPhone 4 has been an absolute frustrating experience and it has me wanting to move to android or even ditch the smartphone it's so rediculously BAD! Ok - first public rant on that.

You solution for deleting songs on the phone was the first that worked (even sync isn't working for me). I had to download the songs, then shut off the show all music and FINALLY I can delete songs.

    Thanks!!

I tip my hat too.  But what a joke that this is what must be done to fix this problem, a problem that should not exist.  Apple has thoroughly screwed up iTunes.  Every single new version brings more bloat, more problems, a need for more convoluted workarounds, and more unneeded and unwanted complexity.  The program is awful and needs to be rethought from the ground up.  Or, and I hope for this everyday, a third party needs to do an altenative music app that works.

Thanks FacetiousWalnut!  This is the only thing that has worked.  Tried turning on "show all music" and downloading the rest of the album of songs I couldn't delete, turning it off and deleting......didn't work and was an epic waste of time.  Tried deleting all music "on this phone" from iTunes, that failed.  Was seriously considering going back to Android on my next phone.
