Q: If i buy an apple usb superdrive can i play blu-rea discs

Just a thought I had a look on line but it would seem that you need extra software to play blu-rea. Is this correct ?

Apple superdrive does not ply Blu-ray discs.

There are third party Blu-ray usb players available.

Some come with software and others not. If that is case, you have to buy software separately.

You can buy any external DVD drive, or bluray, that connects by USB and it will work on your Mac. As for Bluray you will need add-on software to use a Blueray drive to play Bluray discs.
