Question

Call fails instantly as soon as i dial a number . Please advice .

I am not able to make a call on my new iphone 5 . As soon as i dial a number , it gets disconnected , giving an error message saying " Call failed " .

But interestingly i am able to recieve all calls and messages . I am also able to use internet on my iphone . Only outgoing calls seem to be a problem .

I am currently using vodafone . I have even tried changing the sim with a new one but for no good .

Please advice wat could be done .

Finally after a month of hit and trials and a lot of communications with apple and vodafone , I finally got my iphone working . Earlier i had tried changing my hand cut sim to a factory made nano sim . I updated my ios 6 to 7 . Backed up and restored my device . But none of these ideas worked for me .

Today I googled it and found different posts giving the below solution to my problem . I tried it out and it worked .

Though I could not understand how it worked but it did . So just try this out .

step 1 . click on settings .

step 2 . click on phone

step 3 . click on " send my caller id "

Thats it . After showing a " processing " wheel sign , it showed me dat "send my caller id" is now on. And now I can make calls.

I called up apple customer support to let them know how my device started working and also if they could forward this to their engineers so dat it could be of any help.

I did the thing that you said but I still have the same problem 😟 what should I DO? I hate iOS 7
