Q: Cleaning up heavy live music

I shoot some pretty heavy live shows and I've got a question on how to clean up the 'muddiness', if possible, in Soundtrack Pro. I've messed around with some settings and EQ but frankly I am not knowledgable in how to fine tune the sound and clean it up. Basically when I shot the band I made sure that my levels were not in the red but I still got a lot of distortion because the band is just massive in it's sound and they use classic tube amps which sounds great but it's hard to capture that on video without the distortion. Anyone have any suggestions? Here's a good example of what I'm talking about, although this time it was not as bad but the 'crackling' is still very apparent. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BzJ-ZpACkpk
