    Again:

you said the iPhone was iOS6.0.1

    you downloaded iOS7 with iTunes

the new iOS wil be loaded to the iPhone, when it is complete, the iPhone will install it during the restart, then check it, then delete the old iOS

You have to have more than 1 GB free on the iPhone because the download is 1.3GB to iTunes

the install never succeeded, that means that iOS6 must still be on the iPhone...

    Your jepg's:

you choose the iOS from a download location, iTunes did not do it itself, so you have downloaded the iOS yourself? It looks like the correct version

iTunes said "this will erase and restore your iPhone to iOS7.0.2" and started thus on computer side all OK

then iTunes stops/hangs and does not go further

two things are important: no jailbreak or hack on the iPhone, enough free space to complete the download

consider: if iOS6 still on the phone it must work when you restart the iPhone

consider: since iOS7 can slowdown the iPhone4 considerably, maybe you should wait till a next update of iOS7

if you have waited long enough (hours) and iTunes still hangs, shut the iPhone down while connected (cable), and restart.

I hope  WJOSTEN   will read this thread, he is the superpro.

Could you shut the iPhone down while still in the restore process?

As a last resort download the iOS 6.0.1 for your iPhone and put in the    ˜/Library/iTunes/iPhoneSoftwareUpdates folder while deleting the 7.02 file that is there now. Then do the Restore in iTunes.

But this only works if your iPhone was never hacked/jailbroken.

hey dude.. let me ask you one thing.. My IPhone is IPhone 4 GSM 8GB model written on the back A1332. I guess the suitable update is iPhone3,1_7.0.2_11A501_Restore is this one is for my phone or iPhone3,2_7.0.2_11A501_Restore this one is for my phone... Because I guess 2nd is for my phone but Itunes is not accepting this one for me and other one is giving me error 3194... Any one else encountered the same problem?

    Dear Elegant,

    Error 3194

Occurs when trying to install an old firmware and Apple's server disallows the installation.

if you have download iOS 7 and trying to restore it with iOS 7 you will not be able to since iOS 7.0.2 is out and apple do not allow to restore device with older version is new one is already available.

you can download your device iOS 7.0.2 from the below link

    iPhone 4 GSM - http://appldnld.apple.com/iOS7/091-9871.20130924.7imYu/iPhone3,1_7.0.2_11A501_Re store.ipsw

    iPhone 4 GSM (Rev A) - http://appldnld.apple.com/iOS7/091-9821.20130924.jJ61o/iPhone3,2_7.0.2_11A501_Re store.ipsw

Once you have downloaded your required firmware, in iTunes connect you iDevice and press restore with shift key on keyboard. this will give an option to select the iOS file from which you want to restore , select the downloaded file wait for the process to complete.

    you're done , enjoy iOS 7.0.2!!!

First make your phone alive, it still has 6.0.1 on it. you cannot restore to a newer version when the phone is not working. as we discussed. but again, mabe your phone is hacked.

which phone do you have? if it's IPhone 4 GSM 8GB then you should wait while ios 7.0.3 is out. if not, if you are having another phone then instead of trying everything just reinstall windows, and start the process from the top. Here is another suggestion, if your phone is in working condition means older ios is still running then try updating your phone from phone settings not from Itunes that would be better....
