Q: How can I buy from the American Store when I am in Australia?

The episode of the televison show that I want to buy is only available from the American store.  How can I buy from this store and not the Australian one which is where it keeps redirecting me.

    In principle you can't. The American rights holders are only permitted to sell the content in America. Some other company will most likely have bought both the broadcast and resale rights in Australia and will put probably put the show on sale when they are ready. To prevent cross border sales the iTunes store normally uses the registered credit card to prove that you have a valid billing address in the relevant country.
