Jan 25, 2016 10:22 AM in response to Michael Battenfieldby User_Latam,False in every word: it happened to my 9.2 IOS 13 months old iPhone6 genuine and original cable and charger.
-
Jan 25, 2016 10:48 AM in response to SamsMochiby User_Latam,It happened to my iPhone 6 too. It is a 13 months old Dec 15th 2015.
It happened even with the original genuine official cable and charger. It showed even when not connected.
It was a one day death, no electric charge in the battery, no life in the phone.
Who pays the price ? You, of course, my dear and beloved customer.

Jan 25, 2016 3:56 PM in response to User_Latamby Lawrence Finch,Wow, you jumped in with both feet, responded to an almost 3 year old post that has nothing to do with your problem, and didn't bother to read the thread.
If you had you would have learned that either:
- The cable had failed - try a different one (it's got 3 microcircuits in it, so it's not impossible that there was a failure)
- There's dirt in the Lightning connector that is preventing good contact - clean it with pressurized air or a toothpick
- There's a hardware failure in the phone.

Feb 15, 2016 7:44 PM in response to plferrissby gail from maine,There are several recommendations in this post about cleaning your connectors. Take the time to read at least the last couple of pages. We are not going to post the same information again and again....
Best of luck,

Feb 16, 2016 8:03 AM in response to Lawrence Finchby Njm0627,You state the problem is due to 1 of 3 reasons:,
- The cable had failed - try a different one (it's got 3 microcircuits in it, so it's not impossible that there was a failure)
- There's dirt in the Lightning connector that is preventing good contact - clean it with pressurized air or a toothpick
- There's a hardware failure in the phone.
however this is not the case. I suddenly(this morning) have the issue with both my IPod (3years old) & my IPad Air 2 (8 months old).I am using the cables that came with them from Apple. Both cables suddenly failed? I doubt it. Both devices hardware failed the same morning? Again, I doubt it.I Tried turning the devices off &then on; I did the latest update hoping this would fix the bug; I cleaned the connections. I tried to switch cables between devices. Still getting same message & soon will have no charge to battery.
To Gail from Maine-None of the advice helped, so it would be nice if you did not post an answer like yours Feb 15. If it irritates you to reply to those of us that are not technology minded, then just refrain from replying. No one is forcing you to reply.

Have you tried a different USB power source?
-
Feb 16, 2016 8:21 AM in response to Lawrence Finchby Njm0627,Yes, thank you. I tried using 3 different wall plugs that the USB plugs into, the 2 that came with the 2 devices, as well as one that I had from previous Apple product. I am going to the Apple Store tomorrow- I managed to get an appointment. Thank you for your help!

Feb 16, 2016 10:56 AM in response to Njm0627by gail from maine,Thanks but I do not need your editorial advice. I will continue to tell people who do not take the time to even attempt to find an answer in a 22 page thread to try reading it. We have better things to do than to repeat ourselves.

Feb 16, 2016 12:44 PM in response to wegrasby plferriss,I took mine to a nearby store, they did a "simulated battery pull" and I have not had the issue again. Maybe will help

Feb 16, 2016 12:48 PM in response to gail from maineby plferriss,As a matter of fact, I DID read through all that, and nothing helped. Neither did your ineffectual and snarky reply. I agree, if you don't want to help, don't reply. You would have no idea whether or not I read through it all . So in regards to your better things to do,, you can find them. You obviously have no intention of being a help and just want to feel like you are superior. Just so you know, I did find a fix. Not what you suggested either. So in the same vein, we also have better things to do than to get that kind of support on a support page. Next time, don't waste your precious time "helping" Thanks
-
Feb 16, 2016 12:51 PM in response to gail from maineby plferriss,no one asked you to and I did read it. Your advice did not help. So if you are worried about wasting time , don't bother to post your"help" which was ineffectual and presumptive.

Mar 16, 2016 5:43 PM in response to SamsMochiby JNewey,In reponse to the people who's cable isn't charging your iphone anymore, I've found out if I switch the iphone off and charge it whilst it's off this seems to work. Also with the charger plugged into the wall but not the phone, if you switch the phone off, as the little disc starts to spin, plug in the cable, leave it off for ten minutes and then switch it back on you can charge it whilst it's awake. Not ideal, but I ain;t forking out for another cable so this will have to do!

Mar 17, 2016 5:33 AM in response to SamsMochiby guypuk,if you need to charge your iphone when its doing this just try and plug your iphone into the charger just as you slide to power off and it should charge successfully
