On my wife's ios6 iPhone 4 it lets you swipe between images
On my ios7 you can no longer do it
Is there a workaround I'm missing?

I'm having the same problem... really painful to have to click on one image at a time, and not be able to scroll!
My iOS 7 lets me swipe between images but only if I tap on Images Tab at the top in Google after the search .
If I tap on one of the Image results in the main results page it opens just that image, and you can't swipe between images.
This is a Google thing rather than an iOS thing.
As others have reported, mine has started working again. Hoorah!
