Saving itunes to external drive

Consolidated library, saved itunes to my external hard drive, pressed 'shift' and told itunes to save to the external drive. But when I open itunes - no playlists- appear. How do I move them into itunes?

thanks.

The correct way to have done this would have been to have consolidated everything on the internal drive, then copied the entire iTunes folder structure to the external, then used shift-start-iTunes to open the library file on the external drive.

Use shift-start-iTunes to reconnect to your original library.

What is the path to the media folder on the external drive?

Where are the original library files stored? (Normally <User's Music>\iTunes.)
