5s compass / level off. Defective phone?

The compass and level readings are different than the readings two other iPhones are giving. The level tool app I downloaded is Way off... Compared to an actual level I have. Do I have a defective phone?

iPhone 5s, iOS 7.0.2

Hi Utahreefer,

Welcome to the Support Communities!

The link below will show you how to calibrate the Compass app that comes with iOS 7.

If the Compass app is working correctly after calibration and you are still having issues with a different app, you may need to contact the software developer.

Your problem is about compass calibrating?

The problem was solved on my iphone 5 with IOS 7.0.2 and the truth north option enabled. Tested rebooting the app and the phone, the problem has gone.

I just enabled location services for this app (compass calibration). Just go to privacy / enable localization / system services / compass calibration.

Greetings

Yes your iPhone is defective. The level should work and it affects numerous navigation/fitness/camera/game apps. It is a problem affecting a huge number of users. If possible return your iPhone for a refund and wait for it to be fixed before buying another. If it is too late for this then contact your supplier for a replacement.
