Verizon EVDO Support for Express Card Slot Info

i try to find out what this card is use for ? could you tell me , my english is not very good, thanks.

This card is used for wireless broadband connection. Since Apple replaced pcmcia slot with expresscard/34, many of us are waiting for evdo expresscard. Hope this helps !

I read that the driver support for the new Novatel XV620 card was in the latest OSX update (offered as of 7/27) - is that not the case? Anyone know if the driver is in there? It'd be a shame if it wasn't as I'm placing my first ever order with Dell just so I can get one of these cards in a timely fashion.

Ok, I know that dell is selling the card on their website...which is bad b/c I'm switching from a dell to a mac...does anyone know which carriers will handle this card? I heard verizon will be the first...any others? Thanks.

sprint would probably be next, they also use the evdo network

Waiting for the sprint version also. Although I have not heard or read anything about Sprint EVDO for the Mac. I've only seen news about Verizon.

My Dell EV-DO ExpressCard arrived yesterday. OS X doesn't even recognize that anything is plugged in. VZAccess doesn't recognize that there is a card in there. I am on 10.4.7.

Very, very disappointing.

On the Mac side, you’ll first need to pair your XV6700 and Mac to each other. You should be able to do this easily, but if you need some help, check out Apple’s site for direct documentation on how to do this. When pairing, select “Other” device from the list, not “Phone”.

Once paired, the last screen will ask if you wish to use the device as a modem and headset. Uncheck headset (unless you wish to use your phone to communicate with others on applications such as Skype.) Now follow these instructions for setting up the modem:

Username: (Your full phone number) 408-555-1235@vzw3.com
Password: vzw
Phone Number: #777
Mode Script: au cdmaOne Bluetooth Adapter
Leave all check boxes checked
Click CONTINUE
Click QUIT
You’re now all set on the Mac side. You’ll now see a phone with a dot slash icon on your menu bar. Select it and choose “Connect”. Remember to have your XV6700 on, Bluetooth enabled, and the WMmodem application running Bluetooth mode with the START button activated. If all this is the case, you’ll be connected in seconds and your modem icon will display a counter next to it once connected. Enjoy the EV-DO!

check this site www.EVDOinfo.com, they have supported all previous versions, IF anyone has a driver out for that card, and mac, it would be them, unfortunatly, it will not be free

I am having the same problem. The card works in BootCamp's XP partition. Wonder if there is any way to get this work in OS X.

The instructions are for v620. But Dell's card is XV620. So change in idProduct and idVendor. Just wondering if anyone attempted such a change ....
