Whenever I start up my Macbook Pro it keeps going into the "are you sure you want to shut down now" mode. It happened only recently about 2 weeks. I've been looking all over the place for a solution and nothing found. It also tends to want to shut down when I am working. This happens intermitently however the start up issue happens every single time I boot up my system.

Try deleting startup items.
Open System Preferences > Users & Groups > Login Items
Delete all items there that launch when you boot your Mac.
Same for HD > Library > StartupItems
Then restart your Mac to test.

Anti virus software installed?
If this is happening fairly randomly, it could be a stuck power button.
First, try resetting the SMC. If that doesn't help, try starting up in Safe Mode. If the problem continues even while in Safe Mode, it's probably the button. You may need to take the machine to Apple for service.

I'm not aware of any anti-virus software known to cause this sort of issue.
