Suddenly, generic icons for some apps in Finder

Suddenly, I've got generic icons for a few apps in the FInder. The apps themselves seem to work fine, but I've replaced them with apps having "good" icons from various backups (Time Machine and ChronoSync), but the icons still show as generic app icons. I've also tried trashing all prefs files associated with Finder and Desktop and rebooted. No change.

Any ideas how to force Finder to reset icons? Thanks!

Open the Finder. From the Finder menu bar click Go > Go to Folder

Type or copy paste the following:

~/Library/Caches/com.apple.finder/Cache.db

Click Go then move the Cache.db file to the Trash.

Restart your Mac.
