With MDM profile installed, exchange activesync profile was pushed to device and installed silently, therefore causeing no prompt for username. But later in "setting->Email->Account", this username wasn't editable. This is unacceptable.

Summary:

With MDM profile installed, exchange activesync profile was installed silently, therefore causeing no prompt for username. Previously exchange activesync profile was configured to no username and no password.

Steps to Reproduce:

1. Install a MDM profile

2. create a new exchange activesync profile, with no domain, no username and no password setting(leave these fields as blank)

3. push this profile through MDM command.

Expected Results:

when exchange activesync profiles was installed, a prompt should be pop up, to ask user to enter username and password

Actual Results:

No prompt when exchange activesync profiles was installed. Therefore user can't edit username in ipad/iphone (Settings->Mail->related exchange activesync Email Account->Account)

This happends in all iOS(including iOS 7), and all device(ipad, iphone).

I am experiencing the same problem. I'm trying to install an Email or Exchange payload using Apple MDM protocol. This prevents me from defining a generic Email or Exchange configuration to be distributed to several iOS devices since end-user will be unable to edit username and email address fields once the profile has been installed.

Tested on both iOS iOS 6.1 and iOS 7.1

Is there any work-around or plan to fix this?
