Scanner dont work on Mac OSX 10.6.8

Hi,

l cant get my scanner to work on osx 10.6.8. My printer is a Canon MP620. l have been reading on the internet and also trying downloading new drivers, but nothing works. It would be very helpful if someone would give me a detaljed step by step guide on how to do this. Thank you.
