iPhone 4s with iOS 7.0.2 Battery Drains FAST!

My iPhone 4s with iOS 7.0.2 the battery drains tremendously fast! This morning it was 100% charged then just by surfing facebook and flipboard with 3G, it became 7% in the noon. I hope Apple can solve this problem! I'm very upset right now

No harm done Ken, but we here are only users, irritation because of Apple's approach of the market does not go to Apple here. I have read in a lot of other places that they are really working hard to do attack the problems. This time the problems are more numerous, and a lot more people suffer. Remember the first introduction of iOS6? This time the step is even bigger....😟

I am unhappy with iOS 7 not because of the look, I could care less.

I am unhappy because I spend too much time staring at blank screens waiting for simple things like text messenger to load. It can take up to 20 seconds to send my hubby a one word text. The lag time on the camera now makes it practically impossible to shoot candids of foster dogs for the rescue sites and where I used to charge my phone every other day, I know find myself checking the % remaining if I don't go straight home from work.

I turned off all background apps permissions and already have the brightness set very low because of my sensitivity to bright lights.

I switched from Blackberry to Apple years ago for obvious reasons, but since iOS 7, I now find myself looking at the Samsung S4 a little more closely. Thank god contract is up and I'm a "free agent".

If it matters I am using an iPhone 4S and I have 10gb free space.

Hey All,

This is my first week as an Iphone user..... my 4s battery is draining way way faster than expected. My android phone drained equally as quickly and i couldn't wait to come to Apple. Now I'm in the waiting game:

I can wait for an OS update that addresses this known/unknown? problem or I can sell the phone and go for the iphone 5s. Having a non-Apple phone is not an option as they are slow and at times, messy.

7.0.2 gave me about 2ish hours of use away from a charger.

7.0.3 is about the same

1. I've checked every setting to reduce battery usage - no noticeable change.

2. I've visited the Apple store twice and did battery diagnostics finding my phone is ok and my battery is ok. Sure I could get a new battery which may help...maybe, but it shouldn't be draining like this, is what the Apple Store guy says. It's also getting very warm at times.

Well... maybe 7.0.4 or 7.1.0 will address the issue, soon.

The issue I was having corrected itself. The battery life is still not as good as before but it now lasts 10-12 hours and I can live with it.

I also tried all the different fixes, but FWIW I think turning off Siri was the one that made a difference for me. Of course, it could very well be something else but this is worth a try if you haven't already done it.

I had the same issue with my 4S (Verizon, 32 GB). Battery life was awful after the update. I couldn't get through my work day without a charge. My phone was two years old, so the battery was perhaps not tip top, but it was okay with OS 6. So Verizon offered me an even swap for a new iPhone 5C (32GB) and guess what? Battery life is much improved, no problem getting through the day. So perhaps something about the 4s and iOS 7 is an issue? Hard to say as I am comparing old and new batteries.

I'm pleased to report that my wife's 4s has as of a few days ago fixed itself too. We'd previously crippled the phone as suggested by all the troubleshooting tips and it made no difference. She has put up with it for a few weeks, but en with no setting changes, out of the blue it resolved itself like my 4 did. Now, aim I brave enough to try 7.0.3??

I'm not going to talk about anyone else's phone but with my 4S it seems entirely related to wifi having problems with iOS7. As soon as I turned wifi off my battery run times returned to basically iOS6 levels albeing a little as (as what I would expect). This is also related to the heat at which my 4S would operate at which was like a mini-Chernobyl when using wifi a lot. The delay in Apple fixing this almost made me go out and buy a Samsung Galaxy. I had in fact decided to and gave Apple until the coming Friday (which was last week) to release a fix and fortunately 7.0.3 appeared.

Now since having restored my 4S to the factory state using iOS 7.0.3 and putting everything back as a new phone I have pretty much the same battery performance as I did with iOS6 and my heat issues with wifi are gone. While it's still far from perfect I'm no longer wanting to throw it in the trash. And yes, restoring back to factory and restoring everying new is a right pain! Simply applying the 7.0.3 update on top of 7.0.2 didn't help at all.

This happened to me...FIRST TIME EVER.....thought it odd because my alarm on my phone did not go off! Checked phone...DEAD! Could not figure it out since I went to sleep it was at 86%, which was normally plenty of charge to last through the night and Alarm to go off! Just glad my kids were not with me last night or they would have been LATE TO SCHOOL BECAUSE THE ALARM CAN'T GO OFF WITH A DEAD IPHONE!!!!

this is extremely frustrating!

I agree with you completely! It takes me a long time now on any and every app I try to using (I make sure to keep unused apps closed).

I can no longer take pics fr this phone. It takes a ridiculous amount of time and the moment is lost. My kids get tired of waiting for the pic and just walk away. That's very frustrating.
