RGB Connector for Monitor Not Working

My Samsung monitor was working fine with 2 versions of Snow Leopard on two different MacBooks. I updated one MacBookPro to Mountain Lion and now the monitor does not respond using the RGB port and adapter.

I have not tried DVI yet. Any suggestions, updates or tweaks to make this work?

Yes, thank you Eric. I have read the regurgitated Apple copy. A solution is not found there.

Have found monitor is touchy. Finally can get it to work under specific conditions.

Anyone aware if DVI more reliable than VGA?

Anyone have a monitor brand that does nove have issues?
