my mac appears connected to wireless network but no internet access

We recently upgraded our modem (Comcast) and since then, my MAC does not have internet access yet, it's connected to the wireless network, has an IP address - all looks okay. Any ideas? Running OS 10.7.5. We have another Mac that is connecting with no problem it is running IOS 10.5.8.

MacBook Pro, Mac OS X (10.7.5)

Thanks for the help, but powering down did not correct the problem. We tried it several times and nothing. When I am anyplace other than my home the wireless connections are fine. All the IP addresses etc are functioning. We have a second MacBook Pro and, unlike my MacBook Pro, it's wireless works. We have compared all the prefrences and everything between the two agree. While the computer tells me there is connectivity, in reality there is none. Thanks for the help.

Any other ideas?:)

Leave the Express connected to the modem. Power down the modem and "hard reset" the Express according to the following:

To "hard reset" an AirPort Base Station: make sure it's powered up, then press and hold its tiny reset button and keep it depressed for five to ten seconds, long enough for its LED to flash amber rapidly. Release the reset button. Then, the LED will glow amber steadily for about a minute. Then, it will flash amber, slowly, about once every second or two, waiting for you to configure it with AirPort Utility.

Power up the modem and configure the Express.

I see. In that case do the following:

Using the Mac that is not connecting: Go to System Preferences > Network. Select Wi-Fi from the left column. Click the Advanced... button.

Under the Preferred Networks list, select every Wi-Fi network that appears, including the one you want to use, and delete every one using the "–" (minus) button. Select the box "Remember networks this computer has joined" if it is not already selected.

OK then Apply.

Select your wireless network in your Mac's Wi-Fi User uploaded file menu, provide your wireless network password, and determine if that solves its connection problems.

If the above does not resolve the problem, follow the steps in this Apple Support document: Wi-Fi: How to troubleshoot Wi-Fi connectivity
