I have an iPhone5. When I delete any text message (single) or an entire string, my phone wont open other text messages or strings. I will then reboot my phone, go to messages, and the text messages and strings I deleted are back. I attempted to find a work around by opening the message string and selecting all messages then delete convo. My phone still freezes. I manually reset my phone (multiple times) and still have the issue. I have iOS 7.0.3 . Any help is grealt appreciated. Thanks!

I'm having the EXACT same problem with my 4S. I had a ridiculous 2GB of messages. I restored the phone (after resetting with no effect), and although under my usage settings it says I only have 65MB of messages now, I'm still experiencing the same problem when I try to delete my texts. My texts are not set to sync with iCloud or anything.

Oddly enough, the very bottom text conversation actually does appear to delete after I reboot my phone. However, deleting text conversations one by one in between rebooting my phone doesn't sound like an ideal solution. I've had this problem ever since the iOS7 update. I was hoping the subsequent software updates would fix it, but they haven't at all. I love everything about iOS7, except obviously this. Please help!

Also, thanks for that troubleshooting link, but I don't think any of us are actually having problems sending or receiving texts, just merely deleting them.

Did you ever figure out a way to delete your messages? I have an iPhone 5 with iOS 7.0.4 and am having the same problem. I have restored my phone to factory settings to no avail. My messages are taking up a ton of space. It's good to know that I am not the only one experiencing this, but would love to find out how to resolve this.

I was having the same problem with my 4S. I found out that it isn't a freeze as much as it is a REALLY SLOW processing time. I deleted all of my messages, then started a new one,but didn't (because I couldn't) send it. I let it sit an process overnight, and after restarting and sending the message, it worked. and after restarting my phone they were all still deleted. I hope this helps
