Q: I have upgraded my plan but I still get the message from icloud that I have to reduce my plan is this normal

I have marked to upgrade my plan but I still get the messages from icloud that i have to reduce the amount of storage

i have 17 mb and i have marked to purchase 20mb

is this normal

how can i assure myself that i will have the storage space and not loose information
