Mysterious iOS 7 notification sounds

Since updating to iOS 7, my iPhone 4S is making occasional alert sounds (and not even one of the sounds I've set in Settings > Sounds). I turned off all alert sounds for all apps under Settings > Notification Center, yet I still get this mysterious alert sound (several times per day). Any ideas what this could be?

UPDATE 2: The offending app was Downcast (which, other than the annoying alerts, is a nice app).

I had turned off Downcast's alert sounds in Notifications, but the app itself has more sound options under More > Settings > Sound Effects (scroll way down to see it). I turned off the options for Completed Downloads and Feed Refresh, and now my iPhone is quiet once again.

UPDATE: It seems to be Background App Refresh. I went to Settings > Background App Refresh and disabled it for all apps, and I didn't hear the pinging for a few days.

Today I went for a run and turned Background App Refresh back on for RunKeeper, and (now an hour later) I heard the mysterious alert sound. Perhaps it's a specific app running in the background sending these alerts?

Ewire4, I've been having the same problem after upgrading my iPad to iOS 7. I also use Downcast and a couple of days ago already turned off the individual options in Downcast Settings -> Local Notifications, but I was still getting the alert sounds. After reading your note I've now turned off the two options under Downcast Settings -> Sound Effects. Crossing my fingers that that fixes the problem. Thanks.
