Late 2012 Mac Mini 6,2
Core i7 w/ 256GB SSD, 8 GB ram
OSX 10.8.5
After prolonged sleep time, probably greater than 6 or 8 hours and always after overnight, keyboard keystroke fails to wake computer. It will awake with trackpad event.
I haven't seen this with earlier model Mini (mid 2010) which always responds to keyboard.

The sleepimage file still reappears even if never slept. Delete it (hibernate off, etc) - within minutes its back.

Thanks for the reply ... this sounds like what is going on.
It's not really an operational problem for me, but I was curious as to what might be happening.
It's probably something that I can live with and it may not be an issue after the next software.
I've now found an Apple support document relating to this that answers the question.
