Problem with Mac Book Air OS X 10.8.5 - camera fail.. skype

Hi to the all the community 🙂 !

As i already saw a few articles, it seems that due to the latest upgrade "OS X 10.8.5" , the camera of our MacBook Air can't be found.. which is kind of a big problem when you're using you Mac to STAY connected to your family and friends (around the world).. I'm really sad of this situation ..😟

I wanted to know when they are going to give us a new upgrade, in order to fix that sad issue.

I'm really looking forward to it ...

Does anybody has some more information on this subject ?

Apple says "As a workaround, use an external camera for 32-bit applications that require a camera on MacBook Air (Mid 2013) computers."

I just can't understand this with all the money i've invested in this computer.. I find it dissapointing .. 😟

FIX:

1. You need Time Machine

2. Go to folder /Library/CoreMediaIO/Plug-Ins/DAL/

3. Copy AppleCamera.plugin to good place (usb memory stick is the best place).

4. Go to Time machine in date that skype work fine.

5. Change AppleCamera.plugin with file from Time Machine

6. Restart system, Now skype need to work with camera.

I can't fix it with your solution!

I'm able to take the plugin from my older MacBook but I never did a timemaschine backup on my new Air, so how I can restore a older version. My timemaschine backup is to big to use for the 256GB flash.

regardless, the fix for same is coming, however I wont speculate on time, but to say its known and is coming.

Agree - this is simply not good enough. How long does it take Apple to find a solution to a problem that should never have made it out of QA/QC testing? You spend so much on a new apple product and then are told to buy an extra camera?
