Can itunes music library be stored on external harddrive
I am running out of space onmy hard drive and wondering if i could store music on external hard drive as long as it is connected to computer when accessing itunes?
With iTunes closed move the entire iTunes folder from <User's Music> to the root of the chosen drive, e.g. as X:\iTunes where X: is the drive letter. Press and hold down SHIFT as you start iTunes, keep holding until prompted to choose or create a library, click Choose and open the library file at X:\iTunes\iTunes Library.itl.
I'd also recommend you get another drive and backup the library to it at the earliest opportunity.
