Ios7.2 iPhone 4S intermittent beeping noise. What is it?

After the update my iPhone keeps making a double beep noise. I have no idea what it means.

There are no alerts or notifications, mail, etc

I've gone through sounds in settings and looked at every single sound I've assigned to see what sound it goes with. Nothing there.

I've gone thru each sound my iPhone has and played them so I can say which sound it is, but its not in my phone at all. I don't get it.

Anybody else getting this or know what it means?

This beeping is getting on my nerves. I take my phone to bed and it keeps waking me up. It won't stop now. Going off every 4 minutes. I can't turn volume down. I kind if need that

Wow. I can't even keep track of all my issues with this stupid IOS 7

I am having the same problem and can't seem to find help anywhere. Can someone help us with these beeps? I have to turn my sound off at night when I go to sleep.

I finally fixed mine by re checking the sounds again. It was my mail coming in.

My phone is making the same noise. I feel like its a mail notification, but I go to Settings / Sounds and New Mail is set to None.

Can this be hiding anywhere else? Super annoying...

Hi. You can see from my comment above that I had the same problem and it didn't have anything to do with my mail sounds either. I kept looking and found that the sound was associated with an app I have on the phone, called Downcast which downloads podcasts. Each time it downloaded a podcast it gave the alert sound. I noticed that I was getting downloads from that app and went to the app to check the settings and there it was -- sound upon download! So I just set it to silent and no more sound!! I hope this helps you. Just check your apps. This problem is SUPER annoying!!

Thank you! Had to go to Settings / Notification Center / Downcast to turn off download sounds for Downcast. Man, I hope that solves the problem!

Yes, this is definitely an App notification, I too went into Notification Centre and checked through my Apps with only "Sounds" selected, i then opened one of those apps and sure, it had notifications of likes on my photos 🙂

I've finally, after nearly a year of annying unkown "chirps" found out what it is 🙂
