Can't select airport express

Hello,

I'm trying to change my output device to my airport express. On my mac, in the System Preferences for Sound, when in the Output section I see Airport Express and Internal Speakers as options. Selecting Airport Express instantly changes the selection back to Internal Speakers. I am able to play music through the Airport Express using iTunes and also my iPhone, but no other apps (such as Spotify) can cast sound to the Airport Express as that requires to change the output source in the system preferences which I can't do.

macbook, Mac OS X (10.4.11)

Hi there, thanks for posting this. It worked really well until a couple of months back and since then it has suddenly stopped working.

This error message appears:

-bash: command substitution: line 1: unexpected EOF while looking for matching `''

-bash: command substitution: line 2: syntax error: unexpected end of file

usage: kill [-s signal_name] pid ...

kill -l [exit_status]

kill -signal_name pid ...

kill -signal_number pid ...

Any ideas what's going on?

Thanks!
